All foreigners (person and company) can acquire or lease a real estate in Korea.
The detail for it is as below.

(1) Acquisition

   All foreigners (person and company) including non-residents have no limitation to acquire land. But for some region(like cultural assets protection region,etc.), a preliminary approval is needed.



(2) Lease
    All foreigners (person and company) including non-residents can lease real estate without
    restriction. There are some types for leasing real estate in Korea.

• Deposit + Monthly rent

          - Tenant pays key deposit which is refundable at the expiration date of the lease,
            and monthly rent.
          - This type is mainly used for business purpose (office, store, etc.) and residence
            purpose as well.

• Deposit Only

          - Tenant pays only key deposit which is refundable at the expiration date of the lease.
            The deposit is generally about the half of the real estate's value.
            No monthly payment is needed.
          - This type is mainly used for residence purpose.

• Payment at once of one year's monthly rent

          - Tenant pays the whole one year's monthly rent at once at the beginning of the rent period.
          - This type is mainly used for residence purpose.
