Source of the money for the real estate lease in Korea.



When you are planning to establish a company in Korea, you had better think about the real estate for the business and the residence at the same time.

To get D-8 VISA, a foreigner should invest minimun KRW 100 mil (around USD 100,000) to the company which will be established. The foreigner can pay from this money for the "business" real estate such as office, store, etc. But for the "residence" real estate, the foreigner also can pay from this money with some kind of tax penalty.

The money invested to the company should be used only for the business in principal. So if this money be used regardless of the business, the company would pay additional tax by 1.7% annually.

So, I recommend that a foreigner will prepare the money for the business and for the residence apart. But if you don't have enough budget, you can use the invested money for your residence first, and then you can pay it back to the company when you earn money through the business, of course with some tax penalty.
